Day 1- We started with some team-building games and the Polish language lesson conducted by the hosting students. After that the school community welcomed the students and teachers from Turkey, Latvia, Italy and Croatia with a show. The Polish students also guided the guest students and teachers in the school building and lessons. After lunch the whole group went to Białystok- the city of Ludwik Zamenhof, creator of Esperanto, to visit the most important places connected with the multicultural spirit of the city.
Day 2- The students began the day with two workshops at school. The first one was the art workshop where the students created their own patterns on bags and backpacks. Later a dancing workshop took place. All the partner countries showed their national dances prepared before and then they shared their dances with the others. Dancing workshop was the first rehearsal for the final show. Then an unusual geography lesson prepared by the Geography teacher was carried on. The students together with teachers divided into groups explored Knyszyńska Forest (which is near to the Polish school) to get to know the natural treasures of the region and to do lots of tasks leading them to the meeting point. There we had a fire with sausages, traditional Polish food “bigos”, sports games and of course dancing.
Day 3- A local trip to Tykocin and Supraśl- multicultural centre of Podlasie region took place. Guided by the students and an English speaking tour guide the students got to know local culture, historical place and, natural treasures.
Day 4 – The students visited “Ziołowy Zakątek” where they had some workshop on local herbs. They created Kahoot quizzes about the visited places and partner countries in pairs (host-guest). They also played some outdoor games popular in our region.
Day 5 – The last day started with a workshop on Minecraft- as the Polish school has some Microsoft experts. The students into created an international common city. Doing the quizzes created the day before. Later they took lots of photos in a photo booth. The final show with dances closed our common week in Poland. The students shared their new skills in dancing with the school community, the parents and teachers.
